I'm Maria, I design, Carve, finish, photograph and pack every strange little piece myself.
I make jewellery for people who like things a little weird but a little cute. Think tattoos, strange little creatures, old fairytales and anything else that makes me think, I want to turn that into jewellery.
Every piece starts with me, usually a lump of wax and an unreasonable amount of patience.

All Soft Claw Studio jewellery is made from 925 sterling silver, unless otherwise stated on the individual product page. Gemstone details are listed on each piece, with most stones being lab grown.
I choose sterling silver because it’s durable, made to be worn and loved for years, and is one of the more sustainable choices for fine jewellery.

Every piece is designed and handmade by me in Australia using traditional jewellery making techniques including lost-wax casting, stone setting, soldering and hand-finishing.
Lost-wax casting is an ancient jewellery making technique that has been used for thousands of years, where a design is carved or sculpted in wax before being transformed into metal.

Absolutely. Payments are processed securely through Squarespace Payments and Soft Claw Studio never has access to your full card details.
You can also check out using available payment options such as Apple Pay and Afterpay, depending on your device, location and eligibility.

Sterling silver naturally changes over time. Store your piece somewhere dry when you're not wearing it and avoid prolonged contact with perfumes, lotions, chemicals and water.

Everything currently available on the site is ready to ship. Once your order comes through, I'll give your piece one final polish before carefully packing it up.
Orders will usually be dispatched the same day where possible, otherwise the following business day, ready to make their way to you.

Not currently! I don't take fully custom commissions because, for now, I want the freedom to create pieces naturally and follow wherever an idea takes me.
